General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
Marc Seidenberg joined Basso in 2001. He is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer with primary responsibility and oversight for legal and regulatory matters. He is a member of Basso's Valuation, Allocation and Best Execution Committees. Prior to his current role, Marc served as counsel to Basso's investment team where he focused on legal issues concerning the funds’ investments.
Marc began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Howard G. Munson, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of New York. Following his clerkship, Marc worked at the New York City law firm, Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent and Lehrer where he focused on various litigation, corporate and securities matters. During his tenure, Marc obtained his Masters Degree in Environmental Law. He then joined the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where for six years his area of practice centered on clean-up and enforcement issues.
Marc received a B.A. in Government from Hamilton College and earned a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
